Bio

Dylan Rosenthal is a clarinetist from Colchester CT, and is currently pursuing a BM of Clarinet Performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins. Rosenthal is currently studying with prominent soloist Alexander Fiterstein, and has studied with Curt Blood, the principal clarinetist of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, he has played with the Bacon Academy Jazz Band under the direction of Thomas Kessler, which took 1st place at the 51st Berklee International High School Jazz Festival. He was also awarded 1st place at the 2019 Hartt Community Division Senior Recital Competition.Rosenthal has performed with many prominent ensembles, serving as the principal clarinetist of the 2019 ASBDA Wind Ensemble, the assistant principal clarinetist of the 2019 CMEA Allstate Wind Ensemble, the Peabody Chamber Orchestra, and the Peabody Commencement Orchestra. Rosenthal has also participated in the International Clarinet Workshop, where he worked with prominent clarinetists such as the Principal Clarinetist of the Israel Philharmonic Ron Selka, and Principal Clarinetist of the Oslo Philharmonic Fredrik Fors. He also participated in the masterclass of Sasha Potiomkin, the Principal Bass Clarinetist of the Houston Symphony. Rosenthal has been awarded with the ASBDA Outstanding Band Student Award, the 2019 Waterford Jazz Festival Outstanding Soloist Award, and the Connecticut Association of Schools 2019 Outstanding Arts Award.

Lessons

Attendance

Students are expected to show up on time to their lessons, and to bring all required materials. The teacher reserves the right to cancel any lesson without refund if the student does not show up prepared.


Makeup Lessons

Makeup lessons will be provided if the teacher is informed a reasonable time before the scheduled lesson. Please tell the teacher before the lesson that you cannot meet at the scheduled time.


Online Lessons

Online lessons will be conducted over Zoom, and the same attendance and makeup lesson policies apply. A link to the teacher's zoom classroom will be sent to all students who wish to pursue online lessons.
